Land Survey for Foraging Potential
Hello! I am happy that you are interested in the Feral Foraging Land Survey Service! Here is what it entails:
I will walk your property, indexing and scouting the wild species that can be foraged and used by you and your family! Afterward you will receive a full list of what was found along with location information if desired. See details in deliverables.
Cost
- Surveying – $100 / hr
- Travel – Free within 30 miles of Huntsville then $0.50/mile
The Survey
Given that the rate is the same no matter how much time is spent surveying, there are a couple of different options for how you can have me conduct the survey. With every option comes a different tradeoff. I will work with you to get an idea of what your goals are for learning more about your land then build a priority list around them!
Several different option categories are listed below:
Less area covered in great depth | More area covered in less depth
Focus on plants | Focus on fungi (or fungi related species) | Focus on trees
Medicinal Herbs | Wild Edible Food
Getting specific locations of specimens | Getting general areas of specimens

Deliverables
You will receive a spreadsheet containing the species that I found. I will show location by sector for abundant specimens that occur throughout the property and detailed latitude/longitude for rarer ones.
After the survey has been completed, I can optionally walk the property with you to tour what was found!
Or, we can schedule a meeting to discuss how to identify, harvest, and use the forageable specimens on your property for a reduced rate of $50/hr.
